Extra large colour display
Maps and GPS-information are easily readable in all lightning conditions on this 3,5" / 8,9cm display with its dynamic, graphic colour information. It has the largest display in the family of rugged GPS-handheld instruments, and so it is perfect for all kinds of GPS-navigation – on hiking trails, streets and on the water.

Easy to operate
All main functions are easy to reach by one-button access. Thanks to the intuitive keypad and joystick it is a lot of fun to navigate with this istrument. Even for beginners, navigation with the eXplorist XL is very easy.

Unlimited detail chart storage with SD-cards
The compatibility with SD-cards enables an unlimited storage expansion. Upgrade your GPS with the optional Magellan MapSend-Software,  to enable nautical charts, fishing spots or topo maps on various SD-cards. 

USB- connection
Download detailed MapSend-charts and your own destinations from the PC with the High-Speed-USB-data cable.

TrueFix-technology - precise & reliable
The TrueFix GPS-technology uses 14 parallel channels, two of these are occupied only for the satellite based WAAS and EGNOS systems, minimum data loss and a reliable accuracy of up to 3 meters.

Area calculation
You want to know the distance or the area between two or more spots? Just choose the spots on your map, and the eXplorist XL will show the region and its special features.

Vertical profile 
Choose this function, if you want to know the elevation of your hiking trail. 

Geocache manager
Download the geocache-files from web sites and use them for your trips outside. Thanks to this unique function, the management of coordinates in the PC-like data system is even easier. Languages
No matter, which language you need, the eXplorist will provide you with all necessary information. Choose between german, english, french, italian, spanish, swedish, finnish, portugese, dutch or norwegian.

Track recording
Save up to 3 Track-data with 2.000 trackpoints each in the internal storage, and an unlimited number of track data on optional SD-cards.

Four navigation displays
Speed, direction, distance and all GPS information you need can be easily seen on four navigation colour displays.
