memory modules

8 MB / 16 MB / 32 MB / 64 MB / 128 MB / 256 MB / 512 MB Memory modules for Garmin eMAP , 176 , 276C and StreetPilot.

They can be loaded with maps of the  MetroGuide DVDs, City Select, City Navigator and streets & recreations CD.

For large memory modules we recommend the USB-Programmer. So the data can be loaded much faster.

The 256MB module is suitable for the GPS instruments 276C , 296C and StreetPilot III.

The 512MB module is suitable only for the GPS 276C

General note:
 Garmin instruments can process max.  800-1000 tiles per memory card. 
- This corresponds to approx. 2-3 Regular (R) areas in the BlueChart nautical charts. So for nautical charts only a 32MB or 64MB module makes sense.
- With the MetroGuide street level maps you also can use a 256 MB module.  The image formation and the processing speed  are a bit slower but this is not recognizable while using the GPS mode. You can recognize it while playing games, eg. while zooming in or out. We recommend maximum 128MB for older Garmin instruments and 256MB for the StreetPilot III and the new 276C or 296C.
