FMD25 marine radio decoder
Weather reports, weather predictions and warnings automatically on board

The FMD25 is the most compact, automatic receiver for weather reports and weather-and navigational warnings, designed for worldwide operation. It is a NAVTEX-receiver for the international frequencies 490 kHz and 518 kHz. Also the reception of weather reports for professional shipping on frequencies between 0,1 MHz and 11,8 MHz for all A1- and A2-areas is possible. 8 stations are user programmable. The FMD 25 receives and memorizes all messages from selected NAVTEX-stations. With the interal printer the messages can be printed directly or on demand. The built-in receiver is pre-programmed with the 8 most important european frequencies for the reception of weather reports. Implemented software enables trouble-free reprogramming of the 8 stations between 0,1 MHz and 11, 8 MHz. With a programmable timer, daily up to 9 weather reports for professional shipping in morse-code, Telex and Sitor can be automatically received and stored. The messages can be read in clear language or printed. An illuminated display and the spraywater protected keypad enable an easy and comfortable operation.
The FMD 25 marine radio decoder, especially developed for the A1-, A2- and partly A3 sea waters, has a high performance synthesizer. In connection with a new developed software, this synthesizer can detect frequencies between 0,1 MHz and 11,8 MHz for the reception of weather data. Because of its low power consumption, this "stand-alone"-instrument can operate permanently on board.

Receiver
The frequencies for weather reports in europe are preprogrammed on 8 channels. They also can be user defined on frequencies between 0,1 and 11,8 MHz, according to the stations of different sailing areas.

NAVTEX-Decoder
You can receive the NAVTEX-frequency 518 kHz worldwide in the english language. Stations and the kind of message can be chosen with the display and keypad. The repetition of already received and memorozed messages can be suppressed.

MSI (Maritime Security Information) Decoder reception, decoding and printing of  MSI-messages in plain language according to the Global Maritime Distress and Safety System (GMDSS).

Weather reports and predictions
Weather reports and predictions for professional shipping, that are transmitted in Morse code,RTTY or Sitor, are received, decoded and memorized automatically at a predefined time.

Timer function
Like a video recorder, up to 9 stored programms can be activated at a predefined time. Memorized  weather data or navigational warnings can be shown at the 4 -row display or printed directly with the thermal printer.

Navigation-log and NMEA-printer
With an NMEA-0183-interfacean external GPS can easily be connected. In user selectable time- and track intervalls position data are memorized and can be printed for documentation. If a NMEA printer is used, data-sets, that are received at the NMEA interface are printed directly.

Installation and operation
Besides the mechanical installation, only the 12-V-supply, earthing and a suitable antenna have to be connected. One connection cable is included in delivery. The also included mounting brackets allow the mounting in various positions at the wall, a desk or the ceiling. A detailed description you can find in the installation manual.
