The GP7000 F uses the nautical chart material C-Map MAX on commercial SD (Secure Digital) memory cards. The cards are used to memorize waypoints, routes and tracks. Multiple, configurated display modes with switched in graphical windows in North-Up, Course-Up, Auto Course-Up, True- and Relative Motion are possible. Many functions can be configurated individually, e.g. keypad beep, day-/ night-/sun-/normal-/classical display, or chart configuration with switched-in buoys, depth contours, harbour services, spot depth, etc. 

You can enter waypoints directly with the cursor or manually using latitude and longitude. You can enter names of up to 10 digits. Also there are 16 symbols in 8 different colours each and comments of up to 13 digits to enter. All this guarantees an optimum view in the list of waypoints. A route report informs you about distance, approximate time between waypoints and the total distance. All relevant nav.data can be recalled on the navigation display, the compass- and highway display provide a visual steering aid. Multiple alarms warn you visually and acoustically e.g. anchor-, arrival- off course, speed- alarm. There is also the "Grounding Alarm” , taken over from professional sailing. It works with nav.charts, scans the course on the display and warns you when shoals, rocks etc. occur, when they enter an owner-defined chart range. The data transfer is possible via NMEA input and output.

Echo Sounder functions with a connected transducer
The GP-7000F is available with stern mount- or through hull transducer. Thanks to a transmitting power of 4800 W p/p it displays up to a depth of 500m. You can choose between graphical(cruise) Echo Sounder operation(fish - echos are mainly suppressed) or Fishfinder operation with automatic or manual depth adjustment. If you use Dual frequency (50 and 200 kHz) the sounder can display shallows as well as deep waters. The records can be displayed on a single or split screen. Further features are the fish viewer, zoom, sea bed zoom, bottom lock and the switched in depth scale. Multiple alarms (shallow water-, depth, fish alarm in three steps and anchor alarm) are also integrated. The current depth is displayed in the left bottom corner, up to 99,9m.
