ICOM IC-M87 handheld marine
transceiver
The special radio for mariners.
Waterproof construction
The IC-M87 comes in a waterproof case for the use at the sea and at
land, even under the most difficult conditions like rain, storm, high humidity
or extreme temperature changes. The IC-M87 complies with the military specification
(MIL-STD). It meets the JIS-grade7 or IPX7 of the international IEC 529
standard
(1989). (1 m depth, 30 minutes)
5 W output power
With the standard battery BP-227 the 5 W output power enables a communication
over a broad distance. To save batteries, the output power can be reduced
to 3W or 1W.
Easy operation
Six clearly labelled keys and a volume knob maximize simplicity of
operation, even in bad weather conditions. A large, clear LCD with backlighting
and backlit keys make night time operation simple.
Li-Ion-battery for extralong operation
A Li-Ion-battery BP-227 is included in the IC-M87. With the standard
capacity of 1700 mA you can get approx. 15 hours of talk time (typical
operation; Tx:Rx:Standby-duty ratio = 5:5:90) without worrying about the
memory effect on batteries. With the optional BP-226- battery case you
can also use other batteries.
Waterproof speaker microphone HM-138
The optional, waterproof speaker microphone HM-138 meets JIS-grade
7 (1m / 30 min.).
22 Channels for Land use
The IC-M87 has 22 programmable channels reserved for Land use (146
to 174 MHz).
Wide /narrow channel spacing is programmable for each channel. CTCSS-
and DTCS signaling is built-in.For land use no licence is required.
Comes with a desktop charger
The desktop charger BC-152 can be put on the table or mounted on the
wall.
